Ok… they are resolutions, a mixed bag of them for sure. You might note that some are more serious than others. Check back with me December 31…
- I will share the good pens with the rest of the family.
- I will not yell at my grown son as a means of communication, but I reserve the right to use sarcasm when warranted.
- I will begin each day with coffee, snuggles, and prayer, in whichever order seems necessary at the time.
- I will go to bed by midnight and rise by 8am most normal days. (Teehee. Normal).
- “I will exercise more.” (“more” should not be really hard in this instance).
- I will not spend undue time organizing garbage, refrigerator magnets, socks (thank you, Renee English), the grocery cart contents, or tiny toy accessories, no matter how tempted I am to do so.
- I will send someone a card at least every week and call my dear Gramma that often, too.
- I will wear my glasses as soon as I get them, and I will find a watch and wear it, too.
- I will list all that stuff on eBay, including the unworn wedding dress, the cameras, the speakers, and the Stride Rite shoes…
- and I will drop off the dozen boxes of baby clothes off at that pregnancy center. Really.
- I will spend more time in personal communications than on random Tweets and Facebook/blog commenting.
- I will sing just as much and dance more.
- I am changing my Weight Watchers strategy: high protein breakfast, low point lunch, normal dinner. I not will force my family to eat diet-y just because I am, and I will still occasionally buy Doritos and donuts even if I can’t eat them.
- I will write when the moment hits me whenever possible, and I will use my cute little voice recorder to accomplish this when it makes sense.
- I will listen to music other than Southern Gospel, showtunes, and things released before 1996.
- I will not be defined by or apologize for my past any more…not one more time. It’s the past and it’s covered.
- I will read magazines some where besides the bathroom.
- I will dig that box of brand new size 10 clothes out of the crawl space, even if it’s only to find that they fit but are horribly out of style.
- I will keep on taking lots of pictures of my kids, telling them they are pretty/smart/kind, and generally gushing over them, because nearly 4 years after first discovering I was pregnant, they are still the tangible miracle of grace that redefined and completed my life.
- I will treat my husband like my best friend, because he is. I will respect him like my boss, because in many ways, he is. I will love him like my boyfriend, and gratefully, he still is.
- I will begin to research home school curricula and accept that it is likely the direction in which we are headed.
- I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations. – Psalm 89:1
